This includes negligence. Criminal action by the hirer. Resulting from overloading, speeding, parking in a restricted area, Seizure or misuse of the Trailer. The renter is responsible for the trailer and the carried items/boat on the trailer. We do our best to assist and match the renter’s boat to a compatible trailer. However the renter should know the measurements and weight (dry and populated weight) of their boat to make sure it fits on the trailer. A pre-inspection of the trailer is required by both the renter and vendor.
This may be done by Credit Card or direct transfer. The bond will be refunded so long as no damage occurred to the boat during the hire period, or any subsequent loss resulting from damage etc. The hirer agrees to pay the owner the cost of repair; replacement of any loss or damage.
Bookings are confirmed when full payment has been received. While we endeavour to keep your time slot as originally booked. Cancellation of bookings are only made where extreme hazardous weather conditions.
Confirmation and sighting of the hirers’ identification will be required. Which includes Drivers Licence, Passport or Photo Card which must be at the age of 18 years old?
Should the said Trailer not be returned within the agreed time stipulated and the hirer is unable to be made contact with, it will be deemed the hirer to have lost/stolen the vessel. Additional costs will be imposed to take steps to regain possession, including police action.
Trailer must be returned in a reasonable clean state. If placed in salt water to retrieve your boat, please hose down the whole trailer (including between the axle and wheels) with fresh water.
If the trailer is to be used to Paint or Anti foul the boat while on the trailer. The hirer must inform the owner of the trailer that they wish to use the trailer for that purpose. Hence the owner will provide a trailer specifically for that purpose.
If a Trailer is to be used for long distance carrying a heavy load. It is known in some circumstance; the renter may puncher or blows a tyre, or blow an axle bearing or other parts. It will be responsibility for the renter to replace those parts such as tyre, bearing at their costs. In majority of circumstance, a spare tyre will be provided with the trailer (some times two tyres and a bearing set are provided for interstate distances), if the spare tyre or bearing set is use, then the renter still must pay for the cost for the spare tyre, tail lights or other parts. It is recommenced that the renter takes a heavy duty jack on their journey, which will be used to replace the tyre or bearing.
Tyre air pressure; if the renter is carrying a heavy load, the recommended that the renter checks the air pressure for a heavy boat trailer tyre BEFORE putting the boat on the trailer, otherwise you are more than likely to blow the tyre. Generally it should be between 345 kPa and 415 kPa, which is equivalent to 50-60 PSI. The maximum pressure is always listed on the tyre's sidewall, and this should be the target pressure. If the tyre is below 45 PSI you are more than likely to blow the tyre. It is recommended to empty all water, sewer, waste tanks and reduce the fuel within the boat tanks, and then once the boat is loaded drain any water in the boat via the bilge plug, before putting the boat on the trailer. In some circumstance, this can reduce the boat weight up to 200Kgs. If there are any moveable heavy items in the boat, they should be moved to the front or midway of the boat and strapped down, or even taken off the boat before the boat is placed on the trailer.
If is recommended to strap down the boat using at least a minimum of 750kg straps. A total of 4-5 straps should be used tying down from the boat’s two back cleats (port side and starboard) to the trailer and the boat’s two front cleats (port side and starboard) to the trailer. Then one strap on the bow through the cleats connecting to the trailer. This way the boat is tightly balanced on the trailer, ready for safe long distance transport.
